THE RESISTANCE OF HIGH STRENGTH CONCRETES TO SALT ATTACK AND INFLUENCING FACTORS --PROCEEDINGS OF THE SECOND INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON DETERIORATION AND REPAIR OF REINFORCED CONCRETE IN THE ARABIAN GULF, BAHRAIN, OCTOBER 11-13, 1987. VOLS 1 AND 2

Salt weathering is a widespread problem in the Middle East. The mechanism of salt attack is discussed and an accelerated test method is described. The resistance to salt attack imparted by different concreting materials, in particular cement types, has been measured and the results assessed in relation to physical properties of the concrete including water permeability, sorptivity and pore structure.(a) for the covering abstract of the conference see IRRD 813594.
