SANS-Investigation of Early Stage Precipitation Kinetics in Cu-2.9 at.% Ti

According to joint analytical field ion microscopic (FIM) and transmission electron microscope (TEM) studies, the aging of supersaturated Cu-Ti alloys below the metastable β’-solvus line (Fig. 1) leads to the following phase separation sequence [1 – 3]: α”-supersaturated solid solution →α’ matrix + coherent metastable β’-Cu4Ti precipitates →α-matrix + incoherent stable Cu3Ti-precipitates (only after extended aging).
