P‐35: Active‐Matrix OLED Displays by Equally‐Separated‐Subframe Driving Method

Equally-Separated-Subframe Driving (ESSD) method for AM-OLED was proposed and simulated. Conventional digital driving method has the quite good advantages, especially for uniformity and for the simplicity of the pixel circuit, but it has also a problem which must be solved: that is, the larger the number of scanning lines or the deeper the color depth, the shorter the period for programming the data signals to each pixels and for emitting the light. In this paper, we propose a novel digital driving method, ESSD, and it improves the length of both the programming and emitting periods.
