Long-term voltage stability simulation based on AVC framework

The principle of power system automation voltage control(AVC)is introduced, typical AVC model is selected, and based on the the idea of hierarchical voltage control, the impact on long term voltage stability is tested. In this paper, based on the calculation of control sensitivity and considering the system security operation constraints, secondary voltage control problem is represented as a quadratic programming model subjected to security operation constraints.Considering the slow dynamics of power system long-term voltage stability and long-term voltage dynamics caused by secondary voltage in AVC system,a simulation model based on the quasi-steady-state is developed.Testing results on New England 10 generator 39 bus system show that AVC system can enhance the long term voltage stability.
