Active gateway: a facility for video conferencing traffic control

The paper describes the authors' work of applying active network technology to videoconferencing (VC) research. They present the architecture and features of an application-level facility, called active gateway, for videoconferencing traffic and quality of service (QoS) control. It is shown through experiments that this facility enables more control functions that are not seen in conventional videoconferencing tools.
