Metod för dimensionering av bärförmåga vid brand med riskanalys

The performance-based codes currently used for design of fire resistance of structural members are, implicitly or explicitly, based on maintaining a certain risk level. The risk level takes into account the potential injuries and casualties if structural collapse should occur in case of fire. Once the design is made, the risk level is not stated explicitly. A risk based design method is presented which has a potential of determining the effects of various fire safety systems, such as sprinkler and smoke evacuation systems, on structural members. The method starts with a description of the building and its characteristics and ends with either a probability distribution of collapse in case of fire or a description of the magnitude of the consequences and their corresponding probabilities.
