The two‐center expansion of an exponential function: The reduction of Yasuda’s expression to that of Briels

It is shown that the two‐center expansion for an exponential function derived by the author [J. Chem. Phys. 73, 3722 (1980)] is essentially identical with that of Briels [J. Chem. Phys. 73, 1850 (1980)] though different in approach. The simplification of our representation is also discussed.
