Optimizing the dynamic secondary cooling system of the billet CCM at JISCO

This paper mainly introduces the revamping project of dynamic secondary cooling system of the billet CCM(continuous casting machine) at JISCO.After revamping,the casting speed of No.1 billet CCM of JISCO is increased from 2.4 m/min to 3 m/min.However,the casting billets have severe internal and surface defects.After analyzing and summarizing the causes of the surface and internal defects systematically,we modify their original dynamic secondary cooling control model.At the same time,the parameters of the secondary cooling system are optimized and adjusted.Finally the billet quality is improved significantly.
