The comprehensive digital signal processing method improving the energy efficiency and noise immunity of OFDM based communication systems

The paper discusses the principles of improving the efficiency of communication systems based on orthogonal frequency division multiplexing and Radio-over-Fiber technologies and operating in the W-band. Particularly, we propose methods aimed at reducing the peak-to-average power ratio, which utilizes the precoding of the subcarrier frequencies together with the rotation of the signal constellation. To increase the frequency synchronization and noise immunity caused by interference leading to the intersymbol, interchannel interferences, and violation of the orthogonality of subcarriers the windowing of the received signal is applied. To estimate the performance of the proposed methods the effect of frequency mismatch on the quality of data transmission was analyzed and the bit error probability for the OFDM signal for various modulation schemes was calculated.
