LA PROTECCIÓN AMBIENTAL Y EL RESULTADO. UN ANÁLISIS CRÍTICO DE SU RELACIÓN

En el presente trabajo se estudia la controvertida conexion entre el resultado economico y la proteccion ambiental. Para el analisis de esta relacion se diferencia, dentro de la proteccion ambiental, entre la gestion ambiental de la empresa y su rendimiento ambiental. Asi, en este trabajo se justifica que el resultado economico se relaciona con el rendimiento ambiental de una forma positiva, mientras que esta relacion no tiene porque ser positiva con la gestion ambiental. Cuando reexaminamos los estudios empiricos que han analizado la conexion entre la proteccion ambiental y el resultado economico distinguiendo entre los conceptos de gestion y rendimiento ambiental parte de la contradiccion existente se disipa y es posible compatibilizar gran parte de los resultados obtenidos.
