MODEL-BASED OPTIMIZATION OF FED-BATCH FERMENTATION PROCESSES USING PREDETERMINED TYPE FEED-RATE TIME PROFILES. A COMPARATIVE STUDY.

The paper presents the model-based feed-rate optimization results for various fed-batch fermentation processes obtained by using predetermined types of the feed-rate time profile approximating functions and the parametric optimization procedure. Optimization results obtained for various feed-rate time profiles are compared and practical recommendations for selection the structure of approximating function are given.
