Photonic switching using spread spectrum technique

A novel photonic switching system that uses the spread spectrum technique is proposed. This system is simply constructed by a star coupler and optical phase modulators, and it can provide various flexible switching functions. 2 x 1 photonic switching is demonstrated using a 3dB coupler and three optical phase modulators.
