For pt.1 see ibid., vol.6, no.4, p.191-6 (1992). The authors consider the integrated effect of generation and transmission systems, sometimes referred to the second hierarchical level (HL II). The purpose of assessing the reliability of the power system at this level is to estimate the ability of the system to perform its function of moving the energy provided by the generation system to the bulk supply points.
