Energieverbrauch und Produktivität von Lichtbogenöfen

Productivity and specific energy consumption are two important operating parameters of steel production in electric arc furnaces. Hitherto the relationship between these two parameters was only empirical shown. In this paper the relationship is now derived analytically. By using the energy balance productivity and specific energy consumption are described as a function of active power and screening of arc radiation. In four applications it is demonstrated that the energy model is suitable for AC and DC arc furnaces as well. The model is appropriate to estimate the optimisation potential and to evaluate optimisation steps carried out. In this context the significant influence of foaming slag is shown.
