Acinic Cell Carcinoma of the Nasal Cavity

In 1892 Nasse first described four parotid neoplasms composed of cells resembling the normal acinar cell. 5 In 1953 Buxton et al. 6 and Foote and Frazell 7 described salivary gland tumors composed of acinar cells with malignant features. Since then acinic cell tumors have been considered malignant neoplasms. They may recur locally and are capable of metastasizing to lymph nodes, lung, and bones. 1-3
