Stability of Surge Tanks in the Hydroelectric Power Plants - Structures and Problems

Under the framework of a complete model unifying water hammer stabilization via surge tanks and frequency/megawatt control via the turbine speed controller, there are discussed certain hydraulic plant configurations. For these configurations there are deduced the models for surge tank inherent stability. Other water hammer stability problems are also sketched.
