Nonlocal elastic half plane loaded by a concentrated force

After the recapitulation of the fundamental equations of nonlocal theory of elasticity, the stress distribution in the elastic half plane has been approximately calculated under the concentrated force applied perpendicular to its boundary. As a second step the exact stress distribution on the line of action of the force has been found and by comparing the results of local and nonlocal theories, the superiority of the nonlocal theory has been demonstrated.
