Hydraulic brake calipers optimization: modeling and experimental tests

The paper presents in detail three different brake caliper models, each having a well-defined purpose, and their experimental validation. These models are useful to design the brake caliper and to evaluate its effects on the whole brake system in a cheap and fast way. In particular, through the implementation of one of the models in a whole vehicle Matlab Simulink model, the full optimization of the system response has been possible.
