Quality Assurance for PET and PET/CT Systems

INTERNATIONAL ATOMIC ENERGY AGENCY VIENNA ISBN 978–92–0–103609–4 ISSN 2075-3772 The combination of positron emission tomography (PET) and computed tomography (CT) is proving very useful: PET can identity functional abnormalities that might be undetectable by CT alone, while CT provides detailed anatomical information. This publication provides a powerful tool for use in comprehensive QA/ QC programmes for PET/CT scanners. It will be of specific interest to medical physicists who are supervising QA/QC programmes on instrumentation in nuclear medicine departments.
