CAMAD (Computer Aided Microwave Amplifier Design)

This paper provides a guide to teach design of microwave amplifiers aided by a software package designed for this purpose. The program CAMAD (Computer Aided Microwave Amplifier Design) performs most of the calculations required in a variety of designs, and produces the families of circles that are generated. The user can adjust the operating conditions to optimize gain, noise figure or both. A situation often encountered when working with a compass is the need to plot stability circles of large radii. CAMAD eliminates this problem and produces high resolution graphs with several colors. The user can move on the screen with a pointer to determine exactly the value of the reflection coefficient at a certain location. The program was designed for pedagogical reasons but can also be used as a powerful design tool.<<ETX>>
