SUMMARY The problem of estimating the growth rate parameter, 3, is considered for a process with expected value Xi = aefiti, which produces data from a Poisson distribution P(Xi) at time ti(i = 1, 2, *-., n). The posterior distribution for 13 is derived and an approach to designing experiments in this situation is suggested.
