This paper proposes Block Link(BL) file system which provides high-speed multimedia files editing and storing technique. When editing and storing large-scale multimedia files, the BL file system does not need data I/O, needs only modification of the metadata. In addition, by sharing data blocks among multimedia files, the BL file system can save storage space. The BL file system is based on Ext3 file system and implemented in a Linux environment, and the usefulness of the BL file system is validated by applying the Linux multimedia file-editing tool `Avidemux'.
