The purpose of this study was to analyze the ultimate strength of slab-column connections in the flat plate structure, using yield line theory. Equations for prediction of ultimate flexural or shear strength suggested by Johansen, Moe and Hognestad et al. were described. Thereafter, their applicability was evaluated by comparison with existing experimental data on the rectangular column-slab connections. The experimental data were presented 31 percent below computed flexural strength V flex . The ratio between tested and calculated ultimate shear strength proposed by Moe has a mean of 0.85 and if regard two-way loaded specimens the ratio nearly unity. Also, the ratio predicted by Park and Gamble's suggestion has a mean of 1.41 and the equation indicates lower bounded prediction for the distribution of experimental data.
