MULTIPLEXER-BASEDROUTINGFABRICFOR RECONFIGURABLELOGIC

A novelrouting fabric isintroduced thatoffers high flexibility atsignificant lowersilicon costcompared to routing fabrics currently incorporated inmanyField Programmable GateArray(FPGA)devices, IPcores, and IP-core wrappers. Thenovel fabric isentirely constructed frommultiplexers and unidirectional point-to-point connections, controlled byconfiguration bits, andproves veryefficient whenmapping applications. Fora fabric connecting 4-input Look-Up-Tables, areasavings of60% aredemonstrated whenrouting applications fromthe MCNC benchmark set.
