According to practical conditions, the eye protection time point is preset; when the preset eye protection time point is due, whether the eye protection time point is suitable for eye protection needs to be further judged according to the current operation information of the smart television, and eye protection is conducted at the time point suitable for eye protection. Consequently, whether eye protection is conducted or not is judged according to the current operation information of the smart television, so that inconvenience caused to current operation of the smart television in the eye protection process is avoided.
