Modelling simulation of a comprehensive compensation device in electric traction systems

This paper introduces the structure and detecting method of the comprehensive compensation device. Electric traction systems simulation model with the device is established under PSCAD/EMTDC environment to verify the compensation effect. After the improvement on instantaneous reactive power theory, the reactive power, harmonic and unbalance current can be detected simultaneously. Use of PID control in PWM can obtain the better compensation current tracking effect. Finally PSCAD simulations of electric traction systems based on power quality data from the detecting system are performed. The results verify that the whole system structure, current detection, control strategy and parameter calculation method are correct and feasible. (5 pages)
