Modified wideband Quasi-Yagi antenna with integrated balun

A modified Quasi-Yagi antenna with a vertical integrated balun is proposed for newly emerging long-term evolution (LTE) personal wireless communication standard applications. The influence of major parameters on antenna performance is simulated and studied through electro-magnetic simulation, and the optimal parameters of the antenna are obtained. The simulation results of the antenna show that the 10dB return loss bandwidth is 52.2% operating from 627MHz to 1070MHz, and gain is more than 5.4dBi. The final size of the antenna is 0.54λ0 × 0.6λ0 with the thickness is 1.6mm, and the balun is 0.16λ0 × 0.11λ0.
