Implementation of Auto-Focus Algorithms on Aircraft SAR Real-Time Imaging Systems

Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) is an important tool for the collection of all-weather image data It is widely used in the fields of disaster forecasting, military inspection and resources investigation, etc For high resolution image formation, auto-focus methods must be used to remove the phase errors that are the main cause of degradation of quality of SAR image However, the complexity of auto-focus algorithms makes it difficult to realize in real-time environment A novel method is put forward to improve the auto-focus algorithms by using global positioning systems (GPS) data Moreover, the implementation of these design methods in the aircraft SAR real-time imaging system are discussed in detail
