Adaptive sliding-mode based voltage-controlled active magnetic bearing system

This paper deals with the control problem for an active magnetic bearing system. An adaptive sliding mode control algorithm which does not need the knowledge of system parameters is presented. Besides the controller can tolerate high-speed rotational disturbance without performance degradation. The closed loop system is proved to be asymptotically stable by using Lyapunov approach. Simulations are also done to demonstrate the validity of the controller.
