Study on strength of carburized gear for mining gearbox based on dynamics

The common failure forms of carburized gear in mining gearbox were researched,and the internal relations between failure mechanisms and gear strength were deeply analyzed.Aimed at the defects of traditional static analysis on accurately determining the worst engaging location and exerting inertial force,the dynamic meshing theory for carburized gears was studied and the corresponding kinetic equations were derived.Based on the transient dynamic analysis module of ANSYS,the simulation analysis of a pair of carburized spur gears in a mining gearbox was preformed.The comparative analysis of simulation results between dynamics and statics was carried out.The results show that dynamic analysis affords reliable assurance for accurately calculating strength and fatigue life of the carburized gear.
