Some problems of modern influenza prophylaxis with live vaccine.

The study of live influenza vaccine was initiated 35 years ago by A. A. Smorodinstev and his coworkers in the U.S.S.R. [1-3]. Smorodintsev et al. were the first to report the successful immunization of humans by implantation of an attentuated strain of influenza virus in the respiratory tract [1, 2]. These investigators were also the first to define the protective role of influenza antibodies in respiratory secretions and to demonstrate the advantages of live influenza vaccine over killed virus vaccine in stimulation of local
