Soft-single-switched boost PRC using UC3854 and special hysteresis current control technique

This paper presents a PWM soft single switching boost parallel resonant converter (SSS-PWM-PRC). Using this converter, with only a single active switch, high power factor and low THD can be obtained in the rectification process. The harmonic distortion and power factor correction are based on a control strategy that forces the input current to follow a reference current. A detailed theoretical study, simulation and experimental tests, are carried out to illustrate the operating principle and to assure the correct operation of this converter.
