Automatic disturbance rejection control for power plant ball mill

An automatic disturbance rejection controller (ADRC) was used in a power plant ball mill to control instabilities due to the strong coupling and the large time delay. A numerical simulation was used to compare the ADRC with the reservedframe normalization method in the coupling loops and the SMITH predictive compensation method in the timedelay loop. The results demonstrated that the ADRC control performance was similar to a combination of the other two methods but that ADRC was more robust with model uncertainties and disturbances. Therefore, the ADRC will improve control of a ball mill. 
