On the Electromagnetic Fields from a Hybrid Type of EMP Simulator

A typical hybrid type of EMP simulator that is used in the simulation of the nuclear electromagnetic pulse is analyzed. Because of the width of the pulse frequency spectrum, the behavior of the antenna is determined separately for three specific frequency regimes. Also, the pulse-power source interaction with the antenna is considered. After the frequency response of the antenna is determined, Laplace transform theory is utilized to obtain the pulse response. Experimental data are compared with theoretical predictions.
