Schizoaffective Psychoses — Long-Term Prognosis and Symptomatology

As discussed earlier (Gross and Huber 1978), every concept of endogenous psychosis can only be a provisional convention based on certain psychopathological features and on course, that is, on the outcome of the illness. Therefore, Schneider (1980) spoke of psychopathological “state-course entities” or of “small disease entities” (kleine Krankheitseinheiten). This is the case as long as characteristic, or even specific, somatic findings are absent.
