Passivity control based on Euler-Lagrangian model for D-STATCOM with LCL filter

This paper deals with a novel control method for D-STATCOM with LCL filter. LCL filter can effectively attenuate high frequency harmonic of compensation current. By taking the energy dissipation properties of STATCOM with LCL filter into consideration, this paper proposes passivity based control method with Euler-Lagrangian (EL) model and damping injection. The stability of the controllers is analyzed in detail to satisfy static and dynamic performance as well as its ability of suppressing harmonics. The correctness and validity of the proposed control method was verified by the simulation tests based on Matlab/Simulink platform.
