The miniature Joule-Thomson refrigerator

Abstract Some models of planar cryogenic miniature refrigerator realizing simple Joule-Thomson cycle were worked out. The construction base is heat exchanger consisting of several thin metallic plates (stainless steel) connected by diffusion welding in vacuum. The channels are produced by means of modern technologies of photolythographie with electrochemical etching. The thermostatic temperature of 100 K was obtained by operating of refrigerator models on air and nitrogen gas, starting period duration is about 50 s.
