Ultra-wide-band transient electromagnetic scattering laboratory

A unique free-field transient scattering facility is described which employs a dual-channel ultra-wide-band impulsive source. A brief historical review is presented, and the theory and operational characteristics of the laboratory are discussed. Technical implementations which have yielded significant improvement in effective bandwidth and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) are described. High-quality experimental validations are shown, and consideration is given to future enhancements. >
