Comparacao do efeito anestesico local do tramadol ao da lidocaina para biopsia de pele em equinos

This study was aimed at comparing the local anesthetic effect of tramadol and lidocaine for skin biopsy in equines. Eight mature horses underwent skin biopsy after infiltration with either 2.5% tramadol (GT) or 1% lidocaine (GL). The following parameters were evaluated: the onset, duration of block (DB), skin alteration (SA), quality of block (QB), heart rate (HR), respiratory rate (RR) and rectal temperature (T). HR, RR and T were measured before the local blockade and every 15 minutes until the end of the anaesthesia. The onset: immediately after the infiltration of the drugs until sensory blockade. DB: immediately after sensory blockade until reappearance of sensibility. The sensibility test was accomplished every 10 minutes with mechanical nociceptive stimuli. Statistical analysis was done using Tukey’s analysis of variance, t test, and Mann-Whitney test. There was no statistical significance in the HR, T and in the QB between the groups. The RR was significantly lower during the surgery, when compared with basal values and the end of the procedure in the both groups. The onset was significantly superior to GT in relation to GL. Any SA was registered. 2.5% Tramadol was concluded to have a local anaesthetic effect similar to 1% lidocaine when used infiltratively for equine skin biopsy.
