Conversational Manpower Planning Models in a Telecommunications Environment

Manpower planning modeling systems are heading in the direction of conversational models embedded in large-scale computer networks. This paper describes the U. S. Navy research into civilian personnel planning models which are being made conversational on both the input and output sides of their computer processing. The current status of operational and prototype parts of the system are discussed. Also, the directions for the future are indicated, including the possibilities of a conversational model conferencing system to permit nested decision-making on an interactive basis.
