Response by Editor-in-Chief.

I am very grateful to Drs Clifton and Banks for their editorial. With specific reference to the editorial by McCrae and Portes (2019) and the editorial processes involved, reviewer comments were obtained for the initial submission and discussed by two of the editors. The journal manager at Wiley also provided input on the piece. We did not consider that the paper supported publication as a full article but, given the currency of the issue and its importance for nursing, invited the authors to submit an attenuated piece as an editorial. Nevertheless, regardless of the process, the sole responsibility for the content of JAN lies with the Editor-in-Chief. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.
