Integrated waste management systems are the only solution

According to the author those involved in the disposal of municipal solid waste are now of the opinion that an integrated approach is needed, combining waste reduction, reuse and recycling, resource recovery, and landfilling. This paper discusses how, by integrating curbside and source-separated recycling into waste-to-energy projects, companies are able to maximize recycling and reduce disposal costs. This also enables the lives of landfills to be extended.
