Defect Detection and Analysis of 3D Effect Zone of High-piled Wharf

Being influenced by the superstructure,when low-stress reflect wave method is used to detecthigh-piled wharf foundation,basic assumed condition of one-dimension stress wave may not be satisfied. LS-DYNAfinite element software is used to simulate the structure of high-piled wharf,which shows that the signal is seriouslyinfluenced by 3D effect in the extent of 10 meters under the pile head. The detection result is characterized withsuperficial defects. The superficial defect positioning methods will be used to detect the area,it is found that theimproved longitudinal wave method is no longer valid,and the defects can be positioned effectively only bycombining with torsional wave detection method. The above conclusion will play an important role in overall qualitydetection of high-pile wharf foundation.
