Enhanced self-tuning control with application to a combined heat and power system

This paper describes enhanced self-tuning control methods which have been tailored for application to the speed control of a gas engine driven combined heat and power system. The enhanced algorithms have been developed to accommodate for improved estimation and overall control of systems exhibiting fast dynamic and nonlinear behaviour. Refinements that are required to be made to enable the techniques to be applied in practice are described and real-time results illustrate the performance of the resulting scheme.
