Computers in the workplace (panel session)

Computer applications are transforming work and the workplace. Some jobs are affected directly, others indirectly by computer-based systems ( but few are immune to the influence of these systems. There are factory operatives who attend computer-controlled machine tools; secretaries who type on word processing systems; managers who rely on computerized databases for the raw materiai of their decision-making; professionals who telecommute to work from their homes. Those who do not feed, operate, program, maintain, or extract information from computer-based systems typically interact on the job with others who do.
