Research Progress of Having Used Acupuncture to Treat Post-traumatic Stress Disorder in the Rencent Five Years of Domestic and Overseas

Objective:Through analysis of oversea published literatures on the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder by acupuncture, the general tendency in this field was discussed so as to provide reference for later studies. Methods:CNKI and Pubmed databases from January 2009 to January 2014 was retrieved with the keywords of acupuncture and PTSD.As a results,15 articles were included. Results and Conclusion:Those studies show that acupuncture has great clinical effects on PTSD and expound the possible mechanisms of acupuncture in the treatment of PTSD from the aspects of neuroendocrine, related changes in brain function and protein expression. However, the high-quality evidence of using acupuncture to treat PTSD is insufficient, acupuncture scheme design need to be further optimized and the mechanism research also needs to be further and strengthen. Therefore, the clinical trial design should be standardized and the sample size should be enlarged in the later research,so as to find out the objective evidence of the mechanism from the metabonomics, brain network image and the molecular signaling pathways, provide more clinical and experimental evidences for using acupuncture to treat PTSD
