Forecasting precipitation using gray topological with wavelet denoising

In order to improve the accuracy of precipitation forecast,this paper attempts to apply the method of gray topological prediction based on wavelet denosing in forecasting precipitation.Based on the rainfall data from 1951 to 2007 in Dandong,the paper establishes a model for forecasting precipitation.The computational results show that the model is simpler and more accurate than that of the basic gray topological prediction model.Also,the method improves the accuracy of precipitation forecast.The new method provides an important tool for forecasting precipitation and benefits disaster prevention and mitigation.
