A program for analyzing distributed parameter systems via sensors and actuators

Abstract The purpose of this paper is to give a software program for analyzing a system described by a partial differential equation of parabolic type. The system considered is one- or two-dimensional. The analysis is done via actuator and sensor locations and structures. The program allows us to answer the question whether the knowledge of the dynamics of the system together with inputs and outputs is sufficient to control, observe or stabilize the system.
