Numerical analysis of deflection torque of flexible joint with high pressure

To investigate the mechanism of the deflection torque of the flexible joint decrease with enhancing pressure,the 3D finite element model of the flexible joint was set up.The 2nd order strain model constant of the elastomer material in the flexible joint was obtained by test.The stress of flexible joint under differdent pressure with the same deflection angle was computed.The shear stress on the elastomer was analyzed.The reason why deflection torque decreses with enhancing pressure is that the shear stress has changed.The results of the simulation agreed well with the data of experiments.
