Improving the reliability of heuristic diagnosis

One of the issues addressed by the authors is just how reliable are diagnoses produced by a genetic algorithm. The next issue, and the focus of this work, is how to achieve improved reliability of these heuristically produced diagnoses. The primary improvement mechanism is the new genetic algorithm operator called environmental conditioning. This operator and several variants are examined and the experimental results reported.<<ETX>>
